A LITTLE HELP FOR THE GROWN-UPS

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Everything you need to know before the pencils come out.

What is The Birthday Envelope?

A free printable mini mystery with three clues that lead to one secret code. The PDF has three pages: a player sheet, a grown-up setup and hint guide, and the answers with a short birthday message to read aloud.

Is it really free? Do I need to sign up?

Yes. The sample is free for personal use, with no email signup, account or payment needed. Download it here. Ordinary printing costs are yours.

What ages is it for?

We’re exploring activities for ages 8–10. This sample’s difficulty and playing time are still being tested, so an adult should read the guide first and stay nearby. Reading and puzzle confidence vary; use the hints whenever helpful.

How many children can play?

For our current testing, we suggest one small group of 2–4 children working together. This is a testing suggestion, not a confirmed limit or a promise that the sample will suit every group.

How long will it take?

We haven’t established a reliable playing time yet. This is a short three-puzzle sample, not a complete birthday-party activity. If you try it, we’d love to hear how long setup and play took.

What do I need?

A printer, US Letter paper (8.5 × 11 inches), a pencil and an adult nearby. You don’t need a real envelope, lock, hidden objects or special props. An internet connection is needed to download the PDF; the printed puzzles can be played offline.

How do I print it?

Open the downloaded PDF and print page 1 for the players on US Letter paper at actual size (100%). The player page is black-and-white friendly. Check print preview for clipped edges; use “Fit” if your printer needs a little more margin. Keep pages 2 and 3 on your screen, or print them separately for the adult.

The layout is designed for US Letter. If you use A4, select “Fit” and check the preview; we have not completed a physical A4 print test.

Where are the hints and answers?

The grown-up pages in the same PDF contain two hints per clue and the full explanations. Keep those pages away from players until they’re ready for help or the reveal. There’s no need to visit a website to unlock the answers.

Can I print it again or send it to a friend?

You may print it again for your household or a private, non-commercial party you host. Please share our website link with friends so they can download their own copy. Don’t upload, sell or redistribute the PDF. See the personal-use terms.

Can a school, club or party business use it?

The current download is licensed for personal use. Please contact us before using it in a school, club, paid event or commercial package.

The download or printing isn’t working. What should I do?

Save the PDF to your device first, then open it in a PDF reader. Check that all three pages downloaded and try print preview before using paper. If you still need help, email riddleconfetti@protonmail.com with your device, browser and what happened. Please don’t send passwords or payment information.

How can I help test it?

If you’re a US parent or guardian aged 18+, see our adult testing instructions. Taking part is voluntary. We welcome honest observations and do not require a purchase, public review or positive feedback.

Do you collect information about my children?

We ask adults for broad age bands, group size and observations about the activity. Please don’t send children’s names, exact birthdays, photos or recordings. This website’s contact and testing routes are for adults. The privacy policy explains email feedback and hosting data.

Can I buy the full kit? What about delivery and refunds?

There is no paid kit, checkout, subscription or preorder on this website today. The sample is a digital download, so nothing is shipped. If a paid product becomes available, its contents, price, delivery and cancellation or refund terms will be shown before you buy.
